A Project Advisory Committee in partnership with a project reference group are providing the project governance

Project Advisory Committee

The role of the committee is to:

  • adopt a coordinated and collaborative approach to the planning, implementation and evaluation of the “Beyond the Teaching Nursing Home“ project
  • agree upon and monitor an implementation plan and timetable for implementation of the project
  • contribute to and agree to priorities for development activities of the project
  • guide the process of engagement to ensure it is inclusive and informed by the committee and key stakeholders
  • to bring knowledge and experience of aged care and health professional education to the project
  • guide project evaluation in consultation with all stakeholders; and
  • facilitate timely feedback of evaluation results to all stakeholders

The PAC meet every second month and as required. Membership of the committee includes:

  • 5 Members drawn from the Bethanie Group
    • Bethanie Residential and Care Services – General Manager
    • Bethanie Residential and Care Services- Research and Report Coordinator
    • Bethanie Joondanna – Manager
    • Bethanie Clinical Governance representative
    • Bethanie Learning and Development representative
  • 5 Members drawn from the UWA including;
    • Project Director (Chair)
    • Master of Nursing Science Course Lecturer and Project Co-Investigator
    • Clinical Learning Environment Facilitators
  • 2 Consumer representatives from the Reference Group
  • 1 member from West Coast Institute of Training
  • 1 member from Central Institute of Training

The Reference Group

This group was established to facilitate the ongoing involvement of participants, Bethanie staff and students.

Members of the reference group include 6-8 residents of the hostel and independent living units, 2 Bethanie staff and 2 UWA students. The Reference Group meet quarterly with the aim of providing independent insight into issues relating to project implementation, participant experience and student learning. The Reference Group inform the Project Advisory Committee.
