Evaluation

This project will the the subject of a formal evaluation. Details will be published as they become available.

Thank you for agreeing to support the University of Western Australia and University of Notre Dame Australia School of Nursing and Midwifery students attending Bethesda Hospital on a clinical placement.

Supervisors play an important and valuable role in the student journey. Your role is multifaceted, incorporating role model, leader, competent clinician, problem solver, assessor, communicator and teacher. Key responsibilities of the supervisor role include facilitating achievement of student learning objectives, implementing strategies for identified knowledge or skill deficits and appraising student performance.

Please utilise the Practitioner Scholar (Nursing) for any nursing student queries you may have and contact Associate Professor David Thorne for any medicine student queries you may have.

The Learning Hub is an environment that has been created, within the Palliative Care Unit, to provide a space for students and staff to participate in education sessions, debriefing and access resources. Six computers and internet access will be available. Room bookings should be directed to Bethesda Hospital Learning and Development.

Students attending clinical placement may have the opportunity to participate in interprofessional education.

If you are supervising nursing students, there are documents relevant to clinical placement supervision.
