Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences

Throughout the year, the Faculty Admissions Office has a number of events and admission deadlines for the Doctor of Dentistry (DMD), the Doctor of Medicine (MD), the Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) and the Master of Pharmacy (MPharm).

2013-14 Applications

Graduate applications

• Domestic DMD and DPM graduate applications for 2014 are currently open. DMD applications will close 31 May 2013. DPM will close 30 September 2013.
• Domestic MD graduate 2013 applications for 2014 entry are currently open and will close 30 May 2013.  Further details are available from the GEMSAS website.
  
• Domestic Pharmacy graduate applications for 2014 entry are currently open.  Applications will close 31 May 2013. Please contact the Faculty Admissions Office if you have missed the deadline.
  
• International DMD, MD, DPM and Pharmacy graduate applications are currently open.  Pharmacy applications will close 31 May 2013.  DMD and MD applications will close 1 June 2013. DPM applications will close 30 September 2013.

School Leaver applications

• International DMD and MD school leaver applications are currently open and will close 30 June 2013.
• Domestic DMD and MD school leaver applications should open in August. Applications will be made via TISC. Applications will close 27 September 2013.

UMAT

• Registration for the 2013 UMAT is currently open and will close at 5pm AEST on 7 June 2013.
• UMAT results are only valid for one year.  Therefore applicants applying for a school leaver pathway position this year (for 2014 entry) must sit the 2013 UMAT.

• The 2013 UMAT will be held on 31 July 2013.

• Results will be available late September 2013.

School Leaver Pathway sessions

• The information evening for school leaver applicants interested in the MD will be held on Wednesday 8 May 2013.  If necessary, an additional date may be added. To secure a seat, please click here.
  
• The information evening for school leaver and graduate applicants interested in the DMD will be held on Wednesday 15 May 2013.  To secure a seat, please click here.
• A UMAT information session will be held at UWA on Tuesday 21 May 2013. To secure a seat, please click here.  Please note that due to limited seating, we cannot accommodate parents and teachers.  Last year's session was recorded and that recording is still available here.  It is intended that the 2013 UMAT information session will also be recorded.
  
• • Please note that neither ACER nor the UMAT Consortium conduct UMAT preparation courses. ACER and the UMAT Consortium universities do not recommend or endorse any commercially available courses offering UMAT preparation. Furthermore, any UMAT preparation courses being held on UWA grounds are not endorsed or recommended by UWA.

Graduate Pathway sessions

Interview Periods for 2013-14

• Interviews for International applicants are expected to be held in Singapore within the period 24-27 July 2013 and in Perth in August/September 2013.
• Interviews for Master of Pharmacy applicants are expected to be held within the period 21-27 September 2013.  These are provisional dates only (to be confirmed).  Interviews will take place in Perth.
  
• Interviews for Domestic graduate applicants to medicine and/or dentistry are expected to be held within the period: 28 September to 6 October inclusive. Interviews will take place in Perth.
• Interviews for Domestic WA school leaver applicants to medicine and/or dentistry are scheduled to fall within the period 4-18 December 2013. Interviews will take place in Perth.
• Interviews for Domestic WA school leaver applicants on the interview reserve list, as well as Domestic Interstate/New Zealand school leaver applicants are expected to be held in mid-late January 2014. Interviews will take place in Perth.

Please note that not all dates within the periods listed above will necessarily be used.  All applicants must attend their interview in person (there are no skype/video conferencing options).
