The Master of Clinical Epidemiology articulates with the Graduate Diploma of Clinical Epidemiology (90340) to provide graduates with the skills and knowledge to design and conduct clinical research addressing priority health problems in both clinical and community settings.

The programme has a strong public health focus, drawing on the research disciplines of epidemiology, biostatistics and health economics, while emphasising the application of these disciplines in the clinical setting.

Course outline

The course by way of coursework and dissertation consists of

and one of the following dissertation units (24 points)

Award of Graduate Diploma or Graduate Certificate

A candidate who withdraws from the course before qualifying for the Master of Clinical Epidemiology but after completing the requirements for the Graduate Diploma or Graduate Certificate in Public Health or in Clinical Epidemiology may apply to the Faculty Board of Examiners to be awarded the appropriate certificate or diploma.

Admission requirements

Admission to the Master of Public Health requires one ore more of the following

  • a bachelor's degree in the area of health science from this University, or equivalent as recognised by the Faculty
  • the Graduate Certificate in Clinical Epidemiology from this University, or equivalent as recognised by the Faculty
  • the Graduate Diploma in Clinical Epidemiology from this University, or equivalent as recognised by the Faculty
