This course provides graduates with a suitable background for a career in public health research or practice.

In particular, it provides a foundation in the research discipline of epidemiology, biostatistics, health economics and health promotion, as well as the broader social context in which public health programmes are planned, delivered and evaluated. It also provides an opportunity for the student to undertake a period of supervised practice within a public health context.

Admission requirements

Admission to the Master of Public Health requires one ore more of the following

  • a bachelor's degree in the area of health science from this University, or equivalent as recognised by the Faculty
  • the Graduate Certificate in Public Health from this University
  • the Graduate Diploma in Public Health from this University
  • the Graduate Certificate in Clinical Epidemiology from this University
  • the Graduate Diploma in Clinical Epidemiology from this University
  • the Graduate Certificate in Health Studies from this University, or equivalent as recognised by the Faculty
