International students have two options when applying for undergraduate courses at UWA.

Option OneThrough an authorised UWA overseas representative

You can obtain information directly from UWA authorised representatives throughout the world. UWA maintains a database of agents that you can use to locate an agent in your country. You are encouraged to make your application through these agents. Their services are free of charge.

Option TwoDirectly to the UWA International Centre

You can also apply directly to the International Centre:
UWA International Centre, M352
Address: The University of Western Australia
35 Stirling Highway
Crawley, Perth WA 6009
AUSTRALIA
Email: ug-international@uwa.edu.au

You must complete an application form whichever option you choose, and all international students must obtain a student visa before they travel to Australia.

Applicants who are under 18

The Department of Immigration and Citizenship  (DIAC) requires students under the age of 18 to have appropriate accommodation and welfare arrangements while studying in Australia.

Students under the age of 18 must complete an 'Under 18 student carer form' (see below).  Once completed, this form should be returned to the UWA International Centre.  Return details are on the form.

The University currently offers two options with regards to care arrangements for students who are under 18:

Option A - Students must reside in accommodation approved by the University of Western Australia

Under Option A, the University will issue the 'Confirmation of Appropriate Accommodation and Welfare' letter (CAAW).  This confirmation letter is required for an application for a student visa.  University-approved accommodation includes on-campus residential accommodation or homestay approved by the University.  Students residing in homestay arrangements must have a professional carer that has been approved by the University.

The University's approved carer is:

Mr Paul Tann
Tann Advisory and Management Services
38 Hatherley Parade
Winthrop 6150
Western Australia
Tel/fax: (+61 8) 9310 3218
Email: tann.pd@bigpond.com

Please be advised that the University does not contact or arrange a carer on behalf of students.  It is the responsibility of the parents to liaise directly with the carer.  The University is not able to accept responsibility for the services provided by the carer.

Option B - Students must reside with their parents or an eligible relative nominated by their parents, in Perth.

Under this option, the University does not issue the 'Confirmation of Appropriate Accommodation and Welfare' letter (CAAW).  Students or parents must consult the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) and it is up to DIAC to approve the care arrangement.  Please refer to the DIAC website for more information on the Student Guardian Visa.
