All shortlisted school leaver applicants to the International Direct Pathways to the Doctor of Medicine (MD), the Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) and the Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) must attend an interview. 

The purpose of the interview is to allow applicants an opportunity to display some of the attributes and qualities considered desirable in health practitioners.  

Interview - all applicants:

  • Interviews will be held in Hong Kong and Singapore mid July 2017
  • Interviews will be held in Canada late July 2017
  • Interviews will also be held in Perth during August 2017
  • Intervews are face to face and are NOT conducted over telephone, skype or through video conferencing facilities

Interviews- MD & DMD applicants only:

  • Applicants will be shortlisted for interview for medicine and dentistry on the basis of the ISAT score (with the condition that they also appear likely to meet the minimum academic requirement).
  • Applicants for medicine and dentistry will need to be in at least the 25th percentile of each section of the test to be eligible for consideration.  Selection is then competition-based with the highest scores invited for interview
  • The overall ISAT score is used to determine interview offer for medicine and dentistry.

Interviews- Pharmacy applicants only:

  • Applicants will be shortlisted for pharmacy on the basis of predicted ATAR (or equivalent).  Please note that due to the competitive nature of applications, the required minimum academic score for interview may be higher than the minimum score of 94 required for consideration for a place in the course.
