There is a pathway to medicine and dentistry for qualified applicants who are interested in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMS) specialty.

This Pathway does not guarantee a place in the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons OMS training programme; it simply offers an alternate entry pathway to the UWA dentistry and medicine courses for eligible applicants.

The UWA Pathway is only available to applicants who are interested in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery specialty.   Information on availability and how to apply can be found here.

Applicants who already hold a dentistry degree who wish to apply for medicine

Applicants interested in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery specialty who have already completed a dental degree and who hold both unrestricted registration and a Medical Provider Number, may be able to apply for a specified sub quota of medicine places.

Selection for interview is based on GPA and a structured personal statement.  GAMSAT is not required. Applicants require a minimum GPA of 5.5 in order to be eligible for consideration.  A short-list of candidates will be interviewed and will need to attend an interview in Perth in person.  The questions which determine the structure of the personal statement will be used as the basis for the interview.  The offer of a place will be based on GPA and interview score.

Applicants who apply through this pathway cannot also lodge an application to UWA via GEMSAS.

This pathway is reviewed each year.  Information on availability and how to apply can be found here.
