This course fosters interdisciplinary discussion and collaboration and is designed to suit a range of health professionals who seek to develop their knowledge and skills as educators within the health professions.

The course not only explores teaching and learning, assessment, and research methods in health professional education, but offers participants a range of options in the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences and the Faculty of Education.

Course outline

Completion of a total of 48 points comprising three core units and five units chosen as options. All options may be chosen from the approved list offered by the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences. Alternatively, four options may be chosen from the approved list offered by the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences and one option may be chosen from the approved list offered by the Faculty of Education.

Admission requirements

The degree of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from this University, or equivalent as recognised by the Faculty; or a nursing or allied health degree from this University or another recognised institution; or a level of health-related education and a duration and level of professional experience which, in the opinion of the Faculty, would enable the applicant to complete the course; or satisfactory completion of the Graduate Certificate in Health Professional Education from this UniversityEnglish Language Competence

All UWA coursework programs have a minimum level of English language competence necessary, for both Domestic and International students.
