Expressions of interest for research grants are now invited from members of the academic teaching and research staff of The University of Western Australia.

Overview

Staff should hold an appointment to a tenurable position or a contract of at least three years duration. Teaching and research staff holding clinical or adjunct appointments at Senior Lecturer (Level C) or above on the basis of a contract of at least three years duration are also eligible. Staff holding short-term appointments or funded from research grants would need to apply in collaboration with a member of academic staff.

Three grants of approximately $30,000 will be awarded for one year only. Grants will not be provided to fund the personal salary of the chief investigator but for research assistance.

In accordance with the Deed of the Ada Bartholomew Medical Research Trust, the funds are to be used for “the seeking, diagnosing and investigating the nature, origin and causes of disease in human beings and the prevention, cure, alleviation and combating of such diseases.”

  2. Future funding strategy for ongoing research in this area

Application

Expressions of interest should be strictly limited to a single A4 page, with a minimum 2cm margin all round and a minimum font size of 10, and with a budget of not more than four lines identifying sums requested for salary support, consumables and equipment.
