Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences

Please read the following terms and conditions. By applying for access to Faculty resources, you acknowledge and agree to the terms below and any relevant University Policy regarding the use of ICT resources.

Under normal circumstances, your computer account will be activated on the following business day at 11am.

Terms and conditions

1. I have read and agree to UWA Computer Use and Software Regulations and the AARNET Conditions of use.
2. I understand that a UWA user name is a privilege, not a right and carries responsibilities, such as checking it frequently to ensure it has not been accessed by other people. I understand that I may be held responsible if I disclose my user name and password to another person.
3. I understand that, for security and safety reasons, granting admission to unauthorised persons into Faculty computer labs is not permitted. 
4. I will not disrupt other students with general discussion or playing music or lecture recordings except when using headphones.
5. I understand that ownership of this user name is retained by UWA and that, although I am authorised to use it, I have granted the right to authorise its use by any other person.
6. I acknowledge that the Faculty cannot accept responsibility for loss of data from its systems. It is suggested, therefore, that you keep at least two copies of essential files in two different locations.
7. I acknowledge Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences IT personnel may observe my use of these facilities, network traffic and its content, and read any student data held on Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences equipment in the course of appropriate monitoring and maintenance activities.
8. I understand that those using the facilities for study-related activities have priority over other uses.
9. I agree that consumption of food and non-lidded drinks is not permitted in the computer lab. I will also accept responsibility for disposing of drink containers and other rubbish and generally leaving the facilities in a tidy state.
10. I will not damage, relocate, or tamper with computers, printers, switches, network cables and camera equipment in the computer lab. I will not install, modify or remove software on any lab computer.
11. I accept that, for security reasons and for the rights of all students to enjoy a peaceful study environment, the computer lab may be under video and electronic surveillance.
12. I have read this declaration carefully, understand my responsibilities and agree to abide by all Regulations. A breach of these conditions of use may result in the following actions:
    
13. 1. Withdrawal of my access to these facilities
    2. Termination of access to the network
    3. Deletion of printing credit
    4. Referral to appropriate Faculty staff for counselling and disciplinary actions
    5. Referral to appropriate UWA staff and / or the police.
