An elective is an opportunity for you to broaden your clinical experience.

The electives in Western Australia have to be completed between November and February each year. No formal credit is available.

The Faculty office coordinates electives for:

Incoming external medical and dental students

MBBS level 6 UWA medical students

If your university has a deadline for electives, please ensure you send your applications early, as it takes at least eight weeks from receipt of the application to an offer being made. No special allowances will be made.

Apply directly to the Faculty for an elective. All enquiry letters to hospitals, general practitioners and the Royal Flying Doctor Service are re-directed to this office for response. Applications will not be processed until all relevant documents are received in the Faculty office.
