Applications for the Half-tuition Scholarship (Graduate Certificate Course) are to be lodged with the Application for Postgraduate Study during the course enrolment period between Oct - Jan.

Applicants will be notified of the outcome on approval of their application for admission.

Half-tuition scholarships are offered to Faculty teaching staff to undertake postgraduate study in Health Professional Education.

In collaboration with the Faculty of Education, we offer a suite of Postgraduate Courses in Health Professional Education.

These courses are designed to suit a broad range of health professionals interested in improving their knowledge and skills as teachers and/or educational researchers.

The general conditions for scholarships for coursework students apply, except as set out in the specific conditions that follow:

Conditions

Value

The value of the scholarship is half the tuition fees for the Graduate Certificate in Health Professional Education in the year of enrolment. Recipients are required to meet the remaining course costs.

Selection criteria

The scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic merit and/or other outstanding commitment and achievements related to the education of health professionals.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible to apply for a scholarship an applicant must be either a part-time or full-time member of the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences and directly involved in undergraduate or postgraduate teaching. This may include class-based or clinical education.

Eligible staff can be enrolled on a part-time or full-time basis.

Tenure

The award is for a maximum of up to two years. An extension of up to six months may be granted.

Tax implications

It is the responsibility of recipients to check the implications for income tax liability of accepting a scholarship.
