Teaching skills is integral to teaching practice.

Many skills apart from technical skills are taught. This workshop provides a simple four-step framework to improve learning.

Workshop objectives

Participants will be able to:

• outline the features of a skill;
• identify cognitive element of skills;
• describe the four step approach to teach skills;
• give effective feedback;
• modify skills teaching in the workplace;
• explain competence and development of expertise.

Includes a review of skills teaching, participant skills teaching demonstrations, positive critiquing.
